A possible tornado caused damage in Northwest Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A possible tornado caused damage in Northwest Houston.

Damage has been reported at a building on Long Point Drive and Johanna Road. A brick wall of a structure came crashing down. A number of car windows were also broken.

"I went into my bedroom to eat, and all of a sudden the wind started picking up bad and I heard a noise like a train, real loud. and everything started shaking," said one resident.

Eyewitness News obtained video of a possible funnel cloud captured on a cell phone by Jose Hernandez at a nearby apartment complex. Moments after the video was taken, windows at the apartment complex were busted in and a fence was knocked down.

"It was like buzzing and then it passed real fast," said Hernadez.

In the 2300 block of Jacqueline Drive, one residents home sustained roof damage after his carport went flying into it. The damage to trees was hit or miss in the area.

"All of a sudden I hear the rain and the air hit," said resident Brian Rios. "I felt scared, but at the same time, I felt grateful that nothing happened to me."

According to Center Point Energy, a cluster of outages were reported. Approximately 400 residences within the area lost power.
