New ticket options for Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Next year the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will add a whole new way for you to get tickets.

Last year, high demand raised some issues for the Ticketmaster system, and this year the rodeo will use the AXS system.

Among the new features:

• The AXS mobile app through which you can purchase e-tickets and scan them at the gate or from paper tickets printed at home
• Send your ticket to a friend (no more meeting up to get in the performance)
• A 'virtual waiting room' where you are in cue to be randomly selected to buy tickets, instead of being repeatedly turned away from the website
• Real time tracker to show changes in ticket availability

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo runs from March 3-22, 2015. The acts are primarily country music but you can expect to see an R&B performance on Friday, March 6, pop on Sunday, March 8, Friday, March 13 and Tuesday, March 17, and the shows on Sunday, March 15 are described as Nortena & Banda.

While the specific shows have not yet been announced, organizers offer one small hint. They say there will be approximately four to five acts we've not seen at the rodeo before.
