HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Last week, we tackled Houston's top gyms. This week, we asked ABC-13 viewers for their favorite yoga studios
Yoga One has five locations around the Houston area offering over 350 Hot Yoga, Forrest Yoga, Baptiste Power Vinyasa, Vinyasa Flow and Restorative Yoga classes per week. First-time yogis living within the greater Houston area can try any of the Yoga One locations for 30 days for just $30!
BIG Yoga is located on Allen Parkway and offers hot Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga. Come prepared to sweat, but they'll earn a cold lavender towel once class is over! Start by trying their new student special, which is 30 days for $40. They also offer $5 classes every day and even a free class on Sundays! Ever wanted to try stand up paddleboarding? Yep, they offer that too!
Aerial Yoga isn't your traditional mat class. Instead, you'll be getting your workout while working with a hammock suspended in the air. If you're just curious, you can try out two classes for $20. They have two locations - one in Katy and the other in The Heights.
Bikram Yoga Sugar Land prides itself on focusing on the original Bikram Yoga system as Bikram himself developed with the 26 signature poses and two breathing exercises. This yoga is practiced in a room that is heated to 105 to 107 degrees and 40 to 45 percent humidity. Make sure to bring a towel, or two! New students can receive a discounted one-month membership for $45.
Jennyoga offers classes in many styles for yogis of all levels - beginner to advanced. Many of their classes are Vinyasa Flow. They offer donation classes, with a minimum of $5. Their studio is located in the Houston Ayurveda Center, located near Greenway Plaza.
If you're in The Woodlands, check out one of the two Express locations for a Bikram workout. The day spa-like environment provides both a place to relax your mind and rebuild your body. First time students qualify for a one month pass for $89.
The Sugar Land studio has over 40 classes a week (heated and non-heated) ranging from the athletic to the gentle. If you're a new student, $49 buys you one month of unlimited yoga classes. Awakened is one of the few studios around that also offers babysitting services! Babysitting is available Tuesdays, Thursdays and Friday mornings from 9 - 11:4 5a.m.
FitMix offers yoga classes, as well as boot camp, kickboxing, Zumba, Salsa lessons, and more! If you want a variety of workouts, this is the studio for you! New students get a 30 day membership for $40.
The instructors at Tranquil Heart draw from many traditions including Ashtanga Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Thai Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, and the yogic and meditation traditions of Tibet. If you are new to the studio, they offer 10 consecutive days of unlimited classes for just $10.
Kahanu serves the Tomball, Spring, and Cypress area. Most of their classes are suitable for yogis at any level. Right now, Kahanu is offering several New Year's specials throughout the month of January. Be sure to check out their website for free tutorial videos.
