HOUSTON (KTRK) -- HISD thought they were going to have to extend the school year by one day because of severe flooding in the area, but students will not have to "make-up" the day, after all.
School districts normally have to make up any instructional days that are cancelled, but because the state has granted a waiver to districts affected by the storm, HISD has decided not to make up the day.
The last day of class for HISD will be Thursday as scheduled. Schools and offices are expected to re-open at their normal times tomorrow.
