HOUSTON (KTRK) -- All northbound lanes of Highway 288 at Reed Road were shut down for a while Wednesday afternoon due to two separate accidents.
It happened just after 12:30pm.
The first accident involved an HPD officer on a motorcycle. According to HPD, the officer was working an extra job on a funeral detail, lost control of his his bike on loose grave along the highway. The officer was not struck by any other vehicle. He was taken by hospital to Memorial Hermann Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
As authorities were working the officer-involved wreck, a second accident happened in the same area. It's unclear how many vehicles were involved in the second wreck. There is no word of any injuries from the second wreck.
