HIGHLANDS, TX (KTRK) -- The Houston Humane society released photos of dogs they say were living in deplorable conditions in two homes in Highlands Tuesday.

An animal cruelty investigation team served a warrant on the homes on Grace Lane, which are owned by the same man, following an investigation that was sparked by a reported dog bite.

Officials say many of the 20 dogs seized were confined to kennels, covered in filth and feces. They were reportedly suffering from various medical conditions, including tumors, skin disease and eye trauma.

All 20 dogs are at the Houston Humane Society and are being evaluated and treated.

No word of any charges.
