ASHEVILLE, NC (KTRK) -- An Asheville man was still in a coma after being struck by a hit-and-run driver and tried snapping his fingers on Friday, according to his parents.

Terri and Christian Guerrero sent WLOS a video of Jared Anthony Leyva, 22, lying in his hospital bed appearing to move his fingers back and forth, while Terri is saying, "Snap your fingers for mommy."

"I can't even express how much hope and happiness I had to see that," said Terri Guerrero.

"I swear to God. Whatever you want to call it. It's a miracle," added Christian Guerrero.

According to Leyva's parents, their son remains in a coma, but was moved out of the Intensive Care Unit at Mission Hospital.

Leyva was struck while riding his bicycle home from work on Nov. 20.

Joseph Henry, 28, was arrested in connection with the hit-and-run.
