Police remind drivers not to block handicap parking spots

Sealy police are reminding drivers that the stripes next to handicap parking spots are there for a reason.

The police department posted a picture on its Facebook page showing a vehicle on the right side blocking part of the handicap zone.

That didn't leave much room for a child in a wheelchair.

Police warn they will issue citations for vehicles that aren't properly parked, with a first offense cost of more than $500.
