Tornado Taco blows away the breakfast taco competition

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- It's no secret in Houston: Tiny hole in the wall joints can offer some pretty mind-blowing dining options, and Tornado Taco is blowing the roof off the breakfast taco competition.

During a recent trip to their Spring Branch location, ABC13 was overwhelmed by the selection of fresh toppings, and their ridiculously fast service.

With literally millions of possible combinations, the crew over at Tornado Taco are whipping up an incredible breakfast in minutes.

These breakfast tacos delight all of the senses. Frankly, they're beautiful.

Not only are their creators generous on the fillings, you'll really dig the melding of all these Tex-Mex flavors inside their bountiful, soft tortillas. (It's a thing of intrigue how the tortilla becomes so soft without falling apart.)

Their crisp bacon, carnitas and chorizo make this one breakfast taco you must try before you die.

You also cannot go wrong with a bountiful helping of grilled onion, peppers and tomatoes.

A word for those who can't take the heat: Stay away from the grilled jalapenos.

If you're not going to take your tacos to go, they have a tiny little dining room indoors (seats 14) with covered patio seating.

While we could heap adoration and praise all day, we have to dock one chile pepper for issues with online ordering, with a final score of four out of five chile peppers awarded.

After their crew made a slight mix-up on toppings during a previous visit, they deserved a second chance.

This time around, those ridiculously delicious breakfast potatoes (a must-try side item) were nowhere to be found when we opened the bag at the breakfast table.

While these tacos deserve the spotlight, their process from online order to customer pickup is arguably not ready for prime time.
