Employees robbed at east Houston Sonic restaurant

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Employees of a fast food restaurant ran to the walk-in cooler for safety when three masked robbers smashed their way inside.

It happened around midnight this morning at the Sonic location off Federal and Market in east Houston.

Police say the three men broke the glass door to get inside of the restaurant. The employees ran to the fridge and locked themselves inside while the robbers stole their cell phones, purses and wallets.

Police quickly arrived to the scene and used K9s to try and track the suspects, but they are all still on the loose.

Police say there is surveillance video of the suspects, but they are not releasing that video to the public at this time.
