Rick and Morty return for start of season 3 on April Fools' Day (TGPRN TURNER BROADCASTING SYSTEM, INC.)

Wubba Lubba dub-dub, they're back.

Your family favorites from Adult Swim's Rick and Morty made a return to the air on April Fools' Day, delighting and confusing fans, because it was, after all, April Fools' Day. Many of the show's fans were convinced it was a prank.

The show's last new episode aired in 2015.

In the new episode, title character Rick mentions going back in time and how much he liked McDonald's "Szechwan Sauce."

But the sauce is now "no longer available," at least not in this reality.

The sauce was part of a promotion in the late '90s for Disney's Mulan.

The reference led to the sauce's name trending on Twitter.

The official Rick and Morty account got in on it.

Then the official McDonald's account responded.

And that's the way the news goes!
