Earthquake strikes off the coast of Mexico

An earthquake struck off the western coast of the state of Jalisco Friday morning.

The US Geological Survey lists the quake at a 5.8 magnitude.

Jalisco State Civil Protection department says so far there is no sign of major damage following the earthquake.
