7-year-old drowns in bathtub in west Harris County

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A 7-year-old boy drowned in a bathtub last night in west Harris County.

He died at his family's home on Regency Villa Drive near Clay.

The boy's father told Precinct 5 deputy constables his son went to take a bath and when he checked on him, he saw something no parent can ever forget. His son was in the tub and not breathing.

The little boy died at the house.

The medical examiner says the boy's body didn't show any signs of trauma and the dad claims his son did not have any medical issues.

It could be days before an autopsy determines an official cause of death.
