HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A deadly three-vehicle crash that had shut down all the southbound lanes on the Southwest Freeway at 288 is now clear.

Authorities tell us now that a Toyota Sequoia and a Ford Taurus were both traveling southbound on 59 in different lanes, when the driver of the Taurus swerved to avoid a previous wreck. When the driver swerved, the Taurus was hit by the Sequoia. The Taurus spun around and hit the guard rail.

The driver of the Taurus, a Hispanic man, was pronounced dead on scene.

No other injuries were reported.
