Man and woman escape fiery crash near downtown

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man and woman narrowly escaped their car when it burst into flames after they crashed into a tree near downtown.

Authorities say the pair was leaving a party when they lost control on slick roads on north Macgregor near Scott.

Both victims were taken to the hospital, but are expected to be okay.

There's no word yet on whether either the driver or passenger will be ticketed in the crash.
