Consumer Reports has released its list of the top cars of 2016.
The list of cars, trucks and SUVs are ranked on performance, reliability, owner satisfaction and safety.

For best subcompact car, the Honda Fit took high marks for its mileage capabilities, and is the cheapest of the bunch at $19,000.
The best compact car goes to Subaru Impreza, while the best midsized car was the Toyota Camry.
The best large car of the year is the Chevrolet Impala.
Next up are the SUVs. The Subaru Forester took home the prize for best small SUV, while the Kia Sorento took best midsized SUV. Historically, Toyota has taken that prize, but the Kia this year received the highest score on the list.
For best luxury SUV, you cannot beat the beauty and performance of the Lexus RX, according to Consumer Reports.
If you're into sports cars, the Mazda MX5 Miata is the best and runs under $40,000.
The Ford F-150 is the best pickup truck of 2016, and features an aluminum body instead of the traditional steel.
Finally, the best minivan was the Toyota Sienna
