Florida tissue company eyes new plant in Conroe

CONROE, TX -- A Florida-based tissue company is eyeing Conroe for its newest location, which would add more than one million square feet of warehouse space and more than 300 jobs to the community.

While the company has identified Conroe Park North as a prime location, it has not purchased land in Conroe, a spokesman for the company said. The search has been narrowed to Conroe and a location in Tennessee.

"It would be a very nice project and would diversify our manufacturing industry," said Fred Welch, executive director of Economic Development for the city, who declined to release the name of the company.
