HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The freezing temperatures forced the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to issue a temporary saltwater fishing closure.
The closure is in effect along parts of the Texas coast.
It begins at 6 a.m. Tuesday and will stay in place until 10 p.m. Wednesday.
Texas Parks says a hard freeze can cause surviving fish to move to deeper areas where they become sluggish. This makes them vulnerable and easier to catch.
