CONROE, TX (KTRK) -- A Montgomery County man has been sentenced to life in prison in a Montgomery County child abuse case.
The sentence was handed down to Alberto Pedro Vazquez, 22, for first degree injury to a child. That charge was for causing serious bodily injury to a child 14 years of age or younger by striking the child with his hand, striking the child against a wall and by applying force to the child's head with his hand.
The judge also sentenced Hamilton to 10 years in prison for third degree injury to a child for causing bodily injury to a child 14 years of age or younger by striking the child with his hand, striking the child with his foot, grabbing the child's neck and by striking the child against a wall.
According to the DA's office, specifics of the case weren't released because Vazquez's co-defendant, Jessica Espinoza, has similar charges still pending.
Vazquez pleaded guilty on November 4 and chose to have his punishment decided by a judge. Each sentence was the maximum allowed by law.
Espinoza's next court date is April 1, 2015.
