Houston denied bid to host college football playoffs

HOUISTON (KTRK) -- Houston was denied hosting the College Football playoffs for 2018, 2019 and 2020.

Janis Burke of the Harris County Houston Sports called it a big disappointment but was proud of their bid.

"We knew we were up against nine competitive cities that three had new stadiums," said Burke. "We put the best bid we could, and we are not going to give up. We will go after it again.

The cities that received bids:

2018 Atlanta

2019 Santa Clara

2020 New Orleans
