Correa gives back to Puerto Rico
Astros star Carlos Correa is giving back to his hometown of Puerto Rico.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Astros shortstop Carlos Correa is making the most of his celebrity in his hometown of Puerto Rico.

This weekend, the Carlos Correa Golf Tournament is his platform to support the Gogui Foundation.

The goal this weekend, helping sick children in the Puerto Rico area with their medical expenses.

"I come from nothing and I know the needs the kids have," Correa said. "You know when you're sick, you have more needs. So, you need for people to help you out and I want to be that help for them."

Part of the festivities on Friday included Correa visiting children at St. Jorge's Children's hospital. Afterward he held a small intimate gathering at Club Brava.

And on Saturday, it's all about the golf course.

Correa's goal was to raise $75,000 for the weekend. As of Saturday morning, he surpassed it and now is aiming to raise $100,000.
