FRANKLIN, North Carolina (KTRK) -- Employees at a North Carolina animal hospital quickly jumped into action to help pets and customers after a client crashed into the business office.
It happened March 15 at the Noah's Ark Animal Hospital. Franklin Fire Rescue shared a photo of the white vehicle that crashed into the building.
Clinic owner Dawn Todd told Storyful there were no serious injuries to staff, clients or pets as a result of the accident. She said the driver inadvertently crashed into the business office after stepping on the gas pedal instead of the brake.
"We have four employees that work in that space. Luckily, we have two of them that were out running errands. One of our employees was actually hit by a car while she was working. She's OK. Everyone is OK," Todd told WLOS.
The car hit the office manager and threw her across the room and pinned her under rubble. The video shows her freeing herself and calling 911.
The car drove directly over two of the sleeping dogs, missing them both but pinning them under the car. The other two dogs were buried by the debris, but escaped injury.
Todd said that the video shows how well the staff responded to the emergency and how quickly they mobilized to rescue the dogs. What's not on camera is the client's escape from her car. She was freed on the outside of the building, physically unharmed.
