Business featured on ABC hit show 'Shark Tank' thriving in Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- You probably wouldn't expect to see fresh lobster sent from Maine to Houston in just three days, served up at a food truck, but that's just what you'll find at Cousins Maine Lobster.

It's a concept two cousins started three years ago in Los Angeles.

"They started one food truck there and it exploded," said Neil Werner, owner of the Houston franchise.

Then the duo appeared on the ABC show "Shark Tank," and Barbara Corcoran invested $55,000.

That was three years ago.

"From there the rest is all history," said Werner.

After the Shark Tank investment, the cousins, Jim and Sabin, started expanding across the country. Their first stop was Houston. After one year, the business took off.

"We started with one truck. We got very busy, we got our second truck. We got very busy, we got our third truck. Now we have our fourth truck coming in about two weeks," said Werner.

Since its debut in LA, the company has grown to 14 cities.

On Tuesday night, "Shark Tank" aired an update as Barbara visits the cousins, Werner and crew on the boat in Portland, Maine.
