MEREDITH, NH (KTRK) -- A man says he was giving a rude wake-up call by a black bear.
Bob Morgan says he heard a bunch of noise Monday morning and got out of bed to investigate.
"I look up and there's the bear standing right behind you looking at me," Morgan said. "We stared at each other for 4 seconds."
Morgan says he slowly backed away, then recorded a video of the bear leaving his house, minutes after their face to face meeting.
"We had that bond," Morgan said. "It was a good bond he didn't make a motion toward me, I didn't make a motion toward him - I just got up 5 minutes ago! He looks at me, stared him down then he went out the window."
The bear later came back to get its paws on a trash bag. The bear drug it out to the street and feasted on last night's leftover BBQ.
Morgan says the bear broke three screens on his porch. He says he did learn a lesson from the encounter.
"Don't leave your trash out," Morgan said.
