When you look at paid and unpaid work, women work longer than men in 22 out of 28 developed countries. In every country tracked, women did a majority of the housework.
Italy has the biggest gap with women working 11 hours a week longer than men. In the U.S., women and men both work about 50 hours a week. But women average 33 hours at the office and 17 hours a week doing household chores.
