A suspected drunken driver led police on a chase overnight on the West Loop that lasted more than 20 minutes.

Police tried to pull over the driver of a Toyota Corolla on suspicion of driving while intoxicated just before 1am on Dacoma at T.C. Jester in northwest Houston. The suspect refused to stop, officials said.

Authorities pursued the driver onto the 610 Loop and then onto Post Oak and Beltway 8. That's where police deployed spike strips to give the driver a flat tire.

The chase finally ended on Post Oak at Gatewood in southwest Houston, and the suspect was arrested without incident.

Police say the suspect continued to drive the speed limit throughout the 22-minute chase.

He faces a felony evading charge.
