A search was underway Monday evening for a man who led deputies on a short chase and then crashed into a house in north Harris County.

The collision happened along Pin Oak Ridge near Piedmont Creek Trail.

According to the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office, a deputy spotted the driver as he allegedly tried to illegally pass a school bus.

The deputy tried to stop the driver, but he took off, officials said.

After a short chase, the suspect's car hit another vehicle and then a brick home, striking a water line and causing water to gush everywhere.

Deputies said the driver got out of the car fled the scene on foot, running through the neighborhood. He was described as average height and weight with tattoos on his face. He was wearing a blue shirt and blue pants, officials said.

Investigators tell us the car does not appear to be stolen.
