Seven acclaimed ice sculptors competed in downtown Houston Saturday for cash prizes and bragging rights.

Reverend Butter hosted the Magnificent 7 Ice Carving Competition.

Sculptors had five hours to use chainsaws, chisels and blow torches to wow thousands of fans.

Aaron Costic of Broadview Heights, Ohio took the championship with a sculpture of a horn-blowing angel atop a peace sign-filled sun.

Sculptors also battled for the People's Choice Award, which went to Benjamin Rand of West Palm Beach, Florida.

This was the fifth annual ice carving competition at Discovery Green.
