Police say the incident began early Friday in Garland but ended in neighboring Mesquite following a chase.
Investigators say the pickup truck driver refused to pull over in Garland. Officer Joe Harn says the suspect earlier this week was chased by police in nearby Sachse but escaped. Officers had the description of the man and the truck.
Several law enforcement agencies joined Friday's chase of that truck into a Mesquite neighborhood. A Garland officer shot and killed the 25-year-old suspect who drove his truck into a squad car.
Names of the officer and the suspect weren't immediately released.
