A serious accident involving a motorcycle shut down several northbound lanes of the North Freeway for a couple of hours.

The accident happened just before 6am on I-45 near I-610 North Loop. The motorcyclist lost control when a pickup truck apparently dropped some debris. The motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

Authorities apprehended a driver along Spring-Stuebner to question that driver. A witness allegedly saw that driver drop some debris and this when the accident took place. A police investigation is underway.

The accident caused a major back up on the freeway. Authorities apparently closed the ramps from the North Loop onto I-45 at one point. The freeway finally reopened just after 8am.
