Bomb squad called to NW Harris Co. home

HOUSTON Harris County Sheriff's deputies arrived at the home in the 13000 block of Treebank at about 7am in response to an alarm call. They found the front door open and tried to enter the house, when a bucket sitting atop the door fell, spilling liquid on the deputies. As a safety precaution, the deputies retreated from the home and called for back up officers.

Bomb squad experts were called to the scene. Deputies blocked off the street as a precaution, and EMS crews were called to the scene, but no injuries were reported.

SWAT team officers cleared the house shortly before 9am. There was no one inside. Bomb squad experts also determined there were no hazards inside the house.

As it turned out, the bucket that fell on the deputies was only containing water, and appeared to have been placed as a prank. No one was taken into custody.

Officers had been called to the home recently for a domestic disturbance between the husband and wife.
