Dallas PD chief wants charges dropped against stroke victim

DALLAS, TX The Dallas Morning News reported Friday that Brown and Assistant Chief Vince Golbeck met with 55-year-old Dianne Irons at her home and apologized for the arrest. They said they plan an internal investigation and an order that two officers attend a 40-hour crisis intervention course.

Brown said Irons is a stroke victim with documented evidence in medical reports of slurred speech and unsteady balance "and the department regrets that we did not recognize Ms. Irons' medical condition."

Police went to the home after Irons' nephew called police to report he had been kicked out of her house.
