Two Hurricane Ike victims survived the storm only to lose what little they had left in a house fire in southeast Houston overnight. Flames ripped through the home on Beldart near Mykawa around 12:30am. The couple had just finished dinner and was headed to bed when they noticed their mattress was on fire. They managed to escape with only the clothes on their backs.

"The bed caught fire and I lost everything in there, everything and we're Hurricane Ike victims and I don't have anything," said the fire victim.

HFD says the fire appears to be accidental. But the cause is still under investigation.
