A Southeast Texas man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for killing a woman he knew and dragging her body behind his truck. A judge in Orange on Wednesday accepted the murder plea agreement from 35-year-old William Baker Bibb of Kountze.

Bibb pleaded guilty over the June death of 26-year-old Theresa Adell Ardoin.

Bibb was arrested after calling 911 to report that he and the woman were attacked.

Orange County Sheriff Keith Merritt initially said Bibb and the woman possibly planned to do drugs and have sex, but then the pair argued.

Bibb told investigators that he killed the woman, put a rope around her and used his truck to drag her body to a canal, where the victim was found.
