Early Saturday morning, hospital officials alerted police that the child had died.
The Harris County Medical Examiner's Office performed an autopsy. Initial results showed the child suffered what appeared to be a serious injury to the back of the head, a broken left arm, multiple bruises in different stages of healing, and what appeared to be burns to the bottom of the child's feet.
As a result of the investigation and evidence at hand, a warrant for one count of capital murder was issued for Chase Cannon, 27. Cannon was located and arrested during a traffic stop on Tuesday. He remains in the Montgomery County jail with no bond.
