Car fire spreads to apartment complex

HOUSTON The fire broke out around 3am at an apartment complex on Greenbriar near Kipling. Firefighters think the blazed started with the car and spread inside a garage under the apartment units.

"The sheetrock held the fire into the garage area, so minimal damage to the structure. The car is a total loss," said District Chief TJ Slagle with the Houston Fire Department.

The owner of the car has not been found. About five apartment units sustained smoke damage. No one was hurt.
