Driver dies in fiery crash with parked train

LA MARQUE, TX The name of the Houston man wasn't immediately released.

La Marque Officer J.L. Campbell estimates the driver could have been going more than 100 miles-per-hour on the Interstate 45 south feeder road.

Police believe the victim, driving a Mercedes, wasn't able to stop in time to negotiate a turn in the accident yesterday afternoon.

Officials say one empty tanker and the tracks suffered minor damage. The Mercedes ended up beneath some rail cars.

The Galveston County Sheriff's Office had received a report of a black Mercedes speeding on the south feeder road just minutes before the accident.
