CHICAGO, IL -- Adam LaRoche is now addressing the controversy over him walking away from the game he loved for the son he loves.

LaRoche plans to retire and walk away from a $13 million salary and the Chicago White Sox due to the controversy over his son's time in the clubhouse.

In a statement to the media Friday, LaRoche says he felt it necessary to provide his perspective.
