ANAHEIM, CA (KTRK) -- A man and wife in southern California were convicted last week of keeping two young girls malnourished and locked inside an unsanitary mobile home while they played a video game, according to the Orange County District Attorney's Office.

Louis and Petra Huffmire, both 41, of Anaheim, pleaded guilty to two felony counts of child abuse, two misdemeanor counts of false imprisonment, one misdemeanor count of contributing to delinquency of a minor and sentencing enhancements for great bodily injury.

According to investigators, the Huffmires were living in the mobile home with 10- and 5-year-old girls. They say between May 21, 2010, and May 20, 2013, the Huffmires kept the home in an unsanitary state.

Police say inside the home, there were kitchen appliances covered in mold and cobwebs, stacks of trash, feces throughout the home and a pile of used condoms under a stuffed teddy bear.

All the while, police say Louis and Petra Huffmire, who are both unemployed, played World of Warcraft all day on their computer.

The children didn't attend school and were forced to stay inside, according to investigators.

Anaheim police were tipped off by a neighbor. They say when they went to investigator, they found the girls with dirt crusted on their feet, matted hair and teeth damaged beyond repair. Both were malnourished.

Lester Huffmire was sentenced to five years in state prison. Petra Huffmire was sentenced to three years and four months in state prison.
