Homicide detectives are on the scene of a possible murder at an apartment complex in SE Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston police homicide detectives are investigating a possible murder in southeast Houston.

Authorities were called to the El Jardin Apartment complex in the 1600 block of Marlin. Around 9 pm, investigators finally entered apartment number 10 after getting a search warrant.

They were called by the woman's family who discovered her body. They identify her as 27-year-old Fadrian Starling. Her family says she didn't have a place to stay so was floating around from one friend's apartment to another. The last time she was seen was Friday afternoon.

She apparently was invited to stay with the tenant who lives in apartment 10 and was never seen from again.

"She was a great person she was a great person. She used to sing me to sleep at night and it was the only time I could actually get to sleep I would always make her sing Mariah Carey," said Starling's sister Ashley Tiggs.

The family says the victim was asphyxiated but we haven't been able to confirm that with detectives.

Neighbors say they haven't seen him but believe he may know what happened to the victim.

An investigation is ongoing.
