HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Harris County authorities say deputies shut down a major drug lab in northwest Harris County, resulting in four arrests and the confiscation of a drug hoard worth $1 million.
Walter Abedego Stewart, 30, Carlos Ernest Castillo Jr., 24, Quennell Glen Stewart, 34, and Kevin Barnard Flood, 21 are all charged with manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance over 400 grams.
The bust happened on December 15 at a warehouse in the 4800 block of W. 34th Street. In the warehouse, authorities say they found pills made of meth but were made to look like ecstasy. Investigators allege the suspects would press thousands of pills a day to then sell and distribute.
Law enforcement note the drug lab was functioning in the same strip center as a daycare and church.
Deputies arrested other suspects they say were involved in the drug operation at an apartment in the 1000 block of Pinemont Dr. There, deputies say, they found a large stash of pills, as well as counterfeit money and codeine syrup.
In addition to the suspects placed under arrest, another warrant for a fifth person was issued.
