Hundreds of women from Houston are heading to the state capitol for a women's protest

A number of protests are scheduled across the country around the inauguration of President-elect Donald J. Trump, including right here in Houston.

About 150 women's rights activists from Houston will head to Austin tomorrow to participate in a women's march.

Thousands have already began to show resistance to Trump's inauguration as president.

Many held signs calling his presidency 'illegitimate,' blocking buses and pushing back on police.

In New York, celebrities spoke out against Trump, including Alec Baldwin, Robert De Niro, Cher, Mark Ruffalo, and Michael Moore.

In Houston, peaceful protests are planned at Jamail Skate Park, with a march to downtown Houston. That protest begins at 10am.

The Woman's March protesters will gather to head to Austin tomorrow.

Organizers said the protest is a coordinated effort with other women to show Trump they care about the rights of women, the Affordable Care Act, the environment, and LGBT rights.
