Travis Herzog's weather forecast (KTRK)

Thanksgiving starts off cold with some frost north of Houston
Bust out the wind breaker today. Meteorologist Travis Herzog says a cool north breeze will gust up over 20 mph at times under a mostly sunny sky.

The weather will be good for travel around the state and east into Louisiana with plenty of sunshine and seasonably mild temperatures.

As the ABC13 Weather Team has been forecasting since last week, Thanksgiving Day will start cold but warm up nicely into the 60s under a mostly sunny sky. Travis says it will be cold enough near sunrise to produce a little frost on the grassy surfaces and rooftops north of Houston as temperatures dip down into the 30s.

The beautiful weather will continue right through the holiday weekend as a weak front blows in late Saturday. Travis says a stronger cold front is likely to arrive around Wednesday of next week.
