HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The Shell Houston Open (SHO) officially tees off today after a wet Pro-Am shotgun Wednesday at the Golf Club of Houston.
Some of the top players included in this year's field are Jordan Spieth, Patrick Reed, Rickie Fowler and Phil Mickelson. Defending champion Jim Herman will be playing again this year. Mickelson is making his 10th straight start in the SHO, and his 13th appearance overall.
The first-round play is scheduled to wrap-up with the championship round on Sunday, April 2.
This year marks the 69th PGA Tour event in the Houston area held by the Houston Golf Association.
