Theft suspect arrested in Friendswood wearing Cookie Monster onesie

FRIENDSWOOD, TX

At about 1pm on Tuesday, March 4, a witness reported two men stealing from a construction site in the 1100 block of W. Edgewood. The witness followed the vehicle as the suspects headed toward Highway 35, when they were stopped by Friendswood police.

Police say the suspects were pulling a trailer that contained stolen rebar pipes and hurricane fencing.

Dean Allen Stevens, 23, of Friendswood, and Matthew Dwayne Coleman, 30, of Friendswood, were charged with theft. According to Friendswood police, Stevens has two prior convictions for theft, so his bond was set at $30,000. Coleman, who was wearing a Cookie Monster onesie at the time of his arrest, was given a $1,500 bond.
