Houstonians brave the cold for Christmas tamales from Alamo Tamale in East End

HOUSTON

The line at Alamo Tamale in the East End was out the door and around the block. Tamale fans say standing outside in the cold was worth it.

"They are so good. They are handmade. And every year when I bring them home the family goes they're great, they're great. They're fantastic. They are worth the hour wait," customer Carmen Gonzalez said.

"We love them. They're great. It's a family tradition for us. We have to have them every year. My kids get upset if I don't bring them home," customer Wendell Robinson said.

The family-owned business says tamales are a Christmas tradition in Mexico, and it's become popular north of the border as well.
