This year, shoppers who procrastinated say it's paying off.
"I think the retailers are trying to get what they can and you know whatever's left then they'll mark down," shopper Valeria Banks said.
Few people say they just couldn't find what they wanted to buy.
"So, I had to go and pick up some gifts for my niece. A lot of Monster High stuff and some stuff that was really hard to find and I knew that Toys R Us was going to have it," said shopper Magan Hunt.
Toys R Us will be open until 6pm. Make sure to check closing times of the stores you are planning to shop at today.
Many of the larger retail chains are not waiting until after Christmas to have their after-Christmas sales. The most popular purchases appear to be clothes and shoes.
