Excitement building over Keenum's start Sunday, but the task is daunting in his first NFL start

HOUSTON

A day later, the surprise and the excitement has died down a little bit and now everyone realizes just how daunting the task is Sunday for Keenum.

He's tasked with going into the loudest stadium in the NFL against an unbeaten Chiefs team and a defense that's on a record-setting pace for sacks and saving the Texans season…in first-ever NFL start.

The crazy part is Keenum's teammates like his fire so much that they think he might just pull it off. That certain something that makes Keenum special will be tested like never before.

"I think Case is loose," said Texans safety Ed Reed. "He understands that this is a team sport and it's not just on one person. He knows we have his back. He can just go out there and let loose and do what he's always done and that's play football. This game doesn't change. The game of football doesn't change."

"He's a very confident young man," said Coach Gary Kubiak. "He loves to play, flies around every day. It's good for him to get all of the reps the last two days and try to get him more comfortable with what we're fixing to go partake in and go do. I think it's been good work from him. I know he's ready to go and he's excited."
