Galena Park ISD principal on leave

GALENA PARK, TX

Principal Billy Foster was placed on paid administrative leave on Monday after an HPD officer notified the district that they were talking to him about a possible criminal investigation.

Foster is the principal at North Shore Senior High near Wallsville Road and the East Beltway. This is his first year in that position.

We're told he is well liked, but right now off the job per district policy. A spokesman says he was questioned by Houston police about some possible criminal activity. Though neither he nor HPD will tell us what that is, school officials are emphatic it did not involve students, staff or district property.

"We have been in contact with Mr. Foster and he is working with us right now. He is on administrative leave and that's where he will be until the end of the investigation," Galena Park ISD spokesman Jonathan Frey said.

It's important to note that Foster has not been arrested or charged.

He has been with the district for 14 years as a teacher, assistant principal and now principal. The spokesman couldn't tell us how long he'll be on leave.

Our attempt to reach Foster Wednesday night was not successful.
