Three bystanders injured in N. Harris Co. shooting

HOUSTON

The Harris County Sheriff's Office say the shooting happened around 8pm at the Haverstock Hills Apartments in the 5600 block of Aldine Bender.

Detectives say the victims were innocent bystanders who were shot during an ongoing dispute between two groups of people. None of them suffered life-threatening injuries.

After the shooting, the groups of people dispersed. Some fled on foot, and others got away in three cars -- a black Dodge Charger, a black Pontiac and a silver La Sabre. Authorities are still trying to determine how many suspects were involved in the shooting.

Detectives recovered at least two shotguns at the scene that may have been used during the shooting.

Authorities are now questioning a woman who may know some of the suspects.

The sheriff's office knows Haverstock Hills Apartments all too well. At one time, it was considered the most dangerous apartment complex in Harris County. Then the county did something about it. Earlier this year, a judge granted a permanent injunction barring dozens of gang members from the complex. When the injunction was first issued, prosecutors told us there was a drop in crime at the complex.
